Kreft Byghan studio delivers innovative workshops where you can create at your own pace, regardless of experience. Build your confidence and learn new skills in a relaxed and friendly environment.
Mould, shape and join the clay using a variety of techniques, experiment with decorating and mark making, learning step by step. Explore your creative side and produce your own work of art.
Refine the basic skills and learn to wedge, centre, throw and turn.
During workshops we will explore the basic techniques of hand building with slabs, coils, and pinch methods, using a variety of clays, some of which are locally sourced. We will also cover how to cut and join and use the various tools needed to refine the piece
The majority of workshops will focus on the Raku technique which is an unpredictable but exciting form of glazing bisque fired pieces. Other workshops will explore alternative glazing techniques and combinations.
Pieces can be decorated before firing using coloured slips, sgraffito, wax resist, impressing, faceting and slip trailing amongst many others.
Take part in the alchemy firing process where the pottery is taken up to a temperature of 1000 degree of celcius.
I will also advertise workshops on my Instagram account, so please check out my page, or contact me by email.
